Global Immunization Budget Database
(GIBD)
Interactive tool providing access to national government budget data for immunization across low- and middle-income countries.
The dashboard presents information on national immunization budgets, enabling users to explore trends in budget allocations, government commitments, and progress toward more predictable and sustainable financing. It supports efforts to monitor domestic financing for immunization and strengthen accountability and transparency.
The data displayed is extracted from official national budget documents. Where possible, the dashboard reflects budget allocations for immunization programmes, vaccine procurement, and programme management. The data is standardized using an immunization classification framework, enabling cross-country comparisons and time-series analysis.
Supporting transparency and country ownership
Governments are the primary source of long-term financing for immunization. Tracking budget data supports national efforts to strengthen planning, budgeting, and financing systems — ensuring resources are allocated effectively and transparently to protect children and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Developed by UNICEF with input from partners, the GIBD serves to help countries and stakeholders monitor financial trends, advocate for greater investment, and promote sustainable immunization financing.
